The Biyani Group of Colleges, Jaipur, organized a Self Defence Workshop on 11th April 2026 with the objective of creating physical and mental awareness about self-safety and helping students feel more confident in handling difficult situations. The session saw active participation from around 270–280 students belonging to Commerce, Arts, Science, IT, and Nursing streams, making it an interactive and engaging event.
The session was conducted by a dedicated team of around 10 trainers from the Rotary Self Defence Academy, Jaipur, led by Shihan Hemant Kumar and Sandai Indira Kumari. Their practical approach and friendly interaction with students made the session comfortable, receptive and engaging.
The event began on a traditional note with the lighting of the lamp, followed by the floral welcome of the guests. Dr. Sanjay Biyani, Director of Biyani Group of Colleges addressed the students and spoke about how important it is to be aware of our own self. He emphasized that taking care of both mental and physical well-being should be a priority for every youth. His words were simple yet meaningful and connected well with the students.
The session was then taken forward by Dr. Pallavi Singhvi, who brought great energy to the stage. Instead of making it feel like a lecture, she kept it very interactive and relatable. She spoke about real-life situations, the importance of staying alert, and how even small actions can make a big difference in ensuring one’s safety. Students were visibly engaged and responded well throughout her session.
What followed was the most awaited part—the practical training. The trainers demonstrated 4–5 basic Self-Defence techniques that were simple, effective, and easy to remember. Students eagerly volunteered to come on stage and try out the techniques themselves. There was a lot of enthusiasm, and at the same time, a sense of seriousness as students realized how useful these skills can be in real-life situations.
The techniques looked easy to see, but when students tried they realized it needs a lot of presence of mind, stamina, mental strength and awareness to use these techniques when some difficult of unsafe situation arrives.
The session also included an open question-and-answer round. Students asked genuine questions, and the trainers answered them patiently, making sure everyone understood clearly. This two-way interaction made the workshop feel more personal rather than just a formal session.
As also highlighted in the appreciation note, the workshop helped in building awareness, confidence, and a sense of preparedness among students. The trainers’ dedication and the way they connected with the audience played a big role in making the session impactful.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by CA Sakshi Biyani, Assistant Director, who expressed gratitude to the entire team for conducting such a meaningful and much-needed workshop. The guests were felicitated by ma’am, as a token of appreciation for their time and efforts.
The day ended with a group photograph, capturing not just smiles but also a sense of confidence and learning among the students. Overall, the workshop turned out to be more than just a training session—it was an experience that encouraged students to be more aware, more confident, and better prepared in their everyday lives.
