We always talk often about role of youth in every field but who do we consider as youth ? So Youth in general terms means to be in that phase of life which you are most active in. A responsible youth for the nation means actively contributing in the development of any country with their active engagement and developed civic sense.
And let us also discuss what do we understand by the politics? Politics is the set of activities that are associated with making decisions in group, or other forms of power relations among individuals. The branch of social sciences that deals with politics and government is known as political science.
All over the world , youth play an active role in politics because of their action driven spirit and the will and determination to bring change and to make world a better and harmonious place to live in.

Indian Politics and Youth
Though India is generally condemned on world platforms for its very high population which shows us that India has vast human resources available. Nearly 49% of the Indian population are youth aged 15-40. This demographic dividend which seems as an impediment to the growth of country can be turned in its favor if the youth is directed towards right direction.
This demographic dividend is foundation of a nation, integral to its economic and social growth, especially in a rapidly developing country like India. However, according to a report published by the center for the study of developing societies (CSDS)- Konrad adenauer stiftung (KAS), 46% of India’s youth population have little to no political interest, and even those who are interested seem to have no loyalties to a single party .
One of such initiative to familiarize students with politics and political process was taken by Biyani Girls College by taking students to youth parliament at the Constitution Club, Jaipur where they participated and debated about various political issues and contemporary events. Students of Bachelor Of Arts course guised as different political leaders of different political parties performed exceptionally well.
We also conduct many NSS PROGRAMMES to aware students about basic social and political structures and processes through NUKKAD NATAK, DEBATES, EXTEMPORES and PARADE. THIS helps students to grasp
So Youth participation in politics is not just an inspiration but an essential requirement for a progressive and inclusive democracy. Prime minister Narendra Modi ji’s recent call to invite one lakh young individuals without political backgrounds into politics marks a transformational shift toward youth empowerment, inclusivity, and decentralization.
