Biyani Group of Colleges formally launched the “Global Unity Through Learning Art, Language and Culture Through Biyani – Exchange Programme”, known as the Gulabi Exchange Programme, on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. The programme began with a collective Ganesh Puja, in which representatives from Japan and staff members of Biyani Group of Colleges participated together.
The India Japan Student Exchange Programme (Gulabi) aims to provide students from India and Japan with an opportunity to understand each other’s culture, traditions, education systems, and lifestyles. The initiative also encourages direct interaction between students and seeks to build stronger international connections through learning and cultural exchange.
Orientation and Welcome Session for Japanese Students
The programme began with an orientation and inaugural session to welcome the Japanese students to Biyani Group of Colleges. During the session, participants introduced themselves, spoke about their interests and preferences, and shared their experiences of travelling to India. The opening session provided an opportunity for Indian and Japanese participants to interact in an informal setting and begin learning about each other beyond the classroom.
Dr. Sanjay Biyani Welcomes Japanese Students
Director Dr. Sanjay Biyani welcomed the Japanese students and said that the exchange programme would give them an opportunity to understand Indian culture, traditions, and values more closely.
He appreciated the team involved in organising the programme and encouraged students to take an active part in conversations and cultural activities throughout their stay.
He said, “At Biyani, students will receive a homely environment, every possible support, and an opportunity to understand Indian culture closely.”
His message focused on creating a comfortable environment where Japanese students could participate in activities, interact with Indian students, and experience everyday aspects of Indian culture.
Connecting India and Japan Through Youth Exchange
Research and Development Director Dr. Manish Biyani described the Gulabi Exchange Programme as an initiative connecting young people from India and Japan through culture, education, technology, and employment opportunities.
He highlighted the difference between the demographic situations of the two countries, referring to Japan’s ageing population and labour shortage alongside India’s young human resource base.
According to him, areas such as skill development, employment, and technical cooperation can create new opportunities for both countries.
The exchange programme therefore extends beyond cultural activities. Student interaction can also help participants understand different approaches to education, skills, technology, and future career opportunities.

Assistant Director Dr. Radhika Biyani Daga explained that the Gulabi Exchange Programme includes several activities designed to give Japanese students a closer experience of Indian life and culture.
The schedule includes Jaipur sightseeing, homestay experiences, Hindi learning, yoga and meditation, Rajasthani folk dance, and interaction with Indian students.
These activities provide students with opportunities to learn outside a conventional classroom environment. Through homestays and interaction with Indian students, Japanese participants can experience aspects of daily life and communication while sharing their own experiences and perspectives.
Media Exposure Through Biyani Platforms
The Japanese students will also receive exposure to media through Biyani TV, Radio Selfie, and Biyani Times.
This part of the programme will allow participants to learn about different forms of communication and media while interacting with students and members of the Biyani community.
Such activities can also provide opportunities for students to document their experiences and communicate their observations about the exchange programme.
Industrial Visits and Career Exposure
The programme also includes an academic and industry-focused component.
Placement Head Dr. Smriti Tiwari said that the schedule includes RIICO and industrial visits, giving Japanese students an opportunity to learn about the industrial environment and understand local business and employment contexts.
The programme also includes a Pushkar-Kishangarh trip, where participants will gain exposure to the marble industry and learn about an important part of Rajasthan's industrial and cultural landscape.
Higher Education and Career Opportunities in Japan
Another planned activity is a Japan higher education and career seminar.
The seminar will provide an opportunity to discuss higher education and career-related possibilities connected with Japan. Along with cultural interaction, such sessions can help students learn about education pathways, professional opportunities, and areas of cooperation between India and Japan.
Participation in BICON-2026
The Japanese students will also participate in BICON-2026, adding an academic and international dimension to the exchange programme.
Their participation will provide another platform for interaction between Indian and Japanese participants and allow students to engage with discussions and activities connected with the broader India-Japan relationship.
