India and Japan share a long-standing relationship built on mutual respect, learning, and cultural exchange. Building on this connection, Biyani Group of Colleges is organising a 12-day international student exchange programme, GULABI – Global Unity through Learning Art (Language & Culture) with BIYANI, from 12 to 24 September 2026, in collaboration with RIICO.
The programme aims to give Japanese undergraduate and postgraduate students an opportunity to experience Rajasthan beyond its famous tourist attractions. Instead of simply visiting historical monuments, students will explore Indian culture, family traditions, lifestyle, values, art, and hospitality through meaningful interactions and experiential activities.
Rajasthan: Culture, Heritage and Exploration
During their stay, the Japanese students will visit some of Rajasthan’s iconic destinations, including Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Pushkar, and Kishangarh. These visits will introduce them to the region's architectural, historical, and artistic heritage.
A Special Homestay Experience
A special feature of GULABI 2026 is the homestay experience. The Japanese students will live with the Indian families and learn about Indian life. Meals, knowledge of family traditions, celebrations, and interaction with family members can offer a kind of knowledge that may not be accessible to conventional tours. It also provides an opportunity for the students of both countries to make real friends.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
The sessions in the course will also feature Rajasthani folk art, yoga, meditation, Indian lifestyle, personality development, journalism, and cross-cultural communication. Students will also get exposure to traditional industries, handicrafts and entrepreneurship for further understanding of the creativity and economy of Rajasthan.
The overall goal of GULABI is to foster awareness of culture, global citizenship, leadership, and long-term collaboration among the youth of India and Japan. Japanese students will get exposure to the diversity of India, while Indian students will have an experience of India from an international perspective.
Biyani Group of Colleges has been working on strengthening India-Japan educational cooperation for over 20 years. The institution has so far sent more than 121 students to Japan for higher education, and more than 100 students have taken part in educational and cultural exchange programmes in Japan. Many of the students have been awarded the prestigious MEXT Scholarship as well.
GULABI 2026 therefore represents more than a student exchange. It is an opportunity to build bridges between two cultures through education, friendship, family values, art, and shared experiences, creating a foundation for stronger India-Japan connections in the future.
