Student Council Oath Ceremony : A New Chapter of Student Leadership

The Biyani Group of Colleges held its Student Council Oath Ceremony to welcome its newly appointed student leaders. The event marked the beginning of a new chapter of leadership, responsibility, and active participation in the college community.

The ceremony was attended by members of the college management, including Dr. Manish Biyani (R&D Director), Dr. Dhyan Singh Gothwal (Dean), CA Abhishek Biyani (Assistant Director), CA Sakshi Biyani (Assistant Director), and Dr. Radhika Biyani (Assistant Director).

The management presented badges to the newly appointed council members. Heads of Departments (HODs), faculty members, and enthusiastic students also joined the event, adding to its celebratory spirit.

The programme commenced with a soulful Ganesh Vandana, seeking blessings for an auspicious beginning to the occasion.

Celebrating the Potential of Gen Z

Dr. Manish Biyani, R&D Director, then spoke to the gathering with a warm “Good morning, Gen Z,” setting an engaging tone for the event. He highlighted the potential of the Gen Z generation and spoke about the importance of the Student Council in fostering leadership, responsibility, and active participation within the student community.

CA Sakshi Biyani congratulated the council members and shared insights into the revised selection process introduced this year. The process began with a one-hour Student Council Assessment Test, conducted without the use of AI and evaluated by the respective Heads of Departments. This was followed by personal interviews conducted by CA Sakshi Biyani.

Candidates were assessed on their performance in the written assessment as well as their confidence, presentation, communication, and overall conduct during the interview. She explained that the final selection list was thoughtfully curated to create a responsible and capable council. She also emphasised that the council, in collaboration with the management, would work towards addressing the concerns and challenges of the student community throughout the year.

“You are the pride of your teachers, inspiration of your juniors, facilitator of the management, and leaders of the Biyani Group of Colleges.”

She also encouraged the student community to think of Biyani as their home.

The Much-Awaited Badge Distribution

The event then moved to its most awaited segment—the badge distribution. The Heads and Co-Heads of 12 clubs were announced and presented with their badges, marking the beginning of their responsibilities as student leaders. Each of the Heads and Co-Heads expressed gratitude towards the management, faculty members, and fellow council members.

They also shared their vision for their respective clubs and spoke about how they planned to contribute to the college community. The announcements then continued with the Co-Heads of various other cells and departments, including the Student Welfare Club, International Cell, Cultural Department, and Placement Cell.

Student Council Leadership

The Student Council leadership was then announced, with Ms. Humera Khan appointed as President, Ms. Mansi Kumawat as Vice President, Ms. Ridhima Choudhary as Secretary, and Ms. Preksha Khandelwal as Joint Secretary.

Mr. Kshitij Pareek was appointed as President of the Student Council, followed by Mr. Ansh Sharma as Vice President. Recognising his dedication and consistent efforts, the management introduced a change in the council hierarchy by appointing Mr. Saumitra Vyas as Senior President of the Student Council.

Taking the Oath

With the leadership announcements complete, the council members gathered on stage for the oath-taking ceremony. With their right hands raised, the council members, including the President and Vice President, repeated the oath as CA Sakshi Biyani led them through it.

The oath went beyond their responsibilities as student leaders. It emphasised continuous skill development, discipline, integrity, and adherence to the college’s principles and code of conduct.

A New Chapter Ahead

The event concluded with an inspiring address by Principal Dr. Dhyan Singh Gothwal, who encouraged the council members to embrace their responsibilities, lead by example, and contribute meaningfully to the college community.

With a new team of student leaders stepping forward, the ceremony marked the beginning of a year focused on leadership, collaboration, responsibility, and meaningful contribution to the Biyani community.
