Faculty Development Programme on Generative AI

In a significant step toward modernizing academic practices, a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Effective Use of Generative AI in Teaching and Education” was successfully conducted on 14th September 2026. The workshop brought together faculty members and staff from all three campuses — Vidyadhar Nagar, Chandpura, and Kalwar — under one collaborative learning platform.

The session was led by Mr. Rahul Agarwal, who offered valuable insights into how Artificial Intelligence can be practically and effectively woven into everyday academic responsibilities. His engaging and hands-on approach helped demystify AI tools for educators across disciplines, making the session both insightful and immediately applicable.

A Practical Approach to AI in Academia

Rather than focusing solely on theory, the FDP emphasized real-world application. Faculty members explored how Generative AI can support them in:

  • Preparing effective lesson plans tailored to student needs
  • Designing well-structured question papers
  • Creating quizzes and assignments with greater speed and accuracy
  • Developing high-quality teaching-learning materials
  • Generating and refining academic content
  • Saving time and boosting overall productivity

These focus areas reflect a growing recognition that AI, when used thoughtfully, is not a replacement for educators but a powerful ally that enhances their efficiency and creativity in the classroom.

Hands-On Exposure to Leading AI Tools

A key highlight of the programme was the interactive, hands-on training on several popular Generative AI platforms, including:

  • ChatGPT
  • QuestionWell
  • Gamma
  • Canva
  • Perplexity

…along with other AI-powered educational tools designed to simplify content creation and academic planning.

Faculty members had the opportunity to experiment directly with these tools, gaining confidence in using them for real classroom scenarios — from building visually engaging presentations to generating assessment-ready question banks in minutes.

Building a Future-Ready Faculty

The overarching goal of the FDP was to empower faculty with practical, usable AI skills and encourage the seamless integration of AI-assisted methodologies into regular teaching practices. By equipping educators across all three campuses with a shared understanding of these tools, the institution takes a proactive step toward a more efficient, innovative, and tech-enabled learning environment.

As classrooms continue to evolve in the digital age, initiatives like this ensure that faculty members remain at the forefront of educational innovation — using AI not just as a trend, but as a meaningful tool for better teaching outcomes.
